Arizona 2024 General Election Candidates

Those highlighted in green are those we endorsed in this election. Please note that there are those we would normally endorse who we did not. This could mean that we feel that our endorsement would have been of no value to the candidate, could have potentially harmed the candidates campaign or that the candidate wasn't OPENLY in support of the LGBTQ community (i.e. not mentioning LGBTQ on their website & etc.) In the case of one openly LGBTQIA county supervisor we retracted our endorsement after he endorsed a MAGA, "Constitutional Sheriff" over the incumbent Democrat.

In this election we campaigned encouraging voters to NOT retain Arizona Supreme Court Justices Justices Clint Bolick or Kathryn King as both are far-right politically. Neither have been friends of the LGBTQIA community and both approved the return to Arizona's 1864 Civil War era abortion laws.
They were both, unfortunately, retained.

2024 BALLOT MEASURES

Title Suggested Vote Pass
Proposition 133: HCR 2033 – Relating to primary elections. NO

This ballot measure would place into Arizona's constitution the current method of partisan primaries, prohibiting candidates from all parties from being placed in the same primary.

Proposition 134: SCR 1015 – Relating to initiatives and referenda. NO

This proposed amendment to Arizona's constitution would require citizen initiatives to meet minimum signature thresholds in each state legislative district, instead of statewide, to qualify for the ballot.

Proposition 135: HCR 2039 – Relating to the governor's emergency powers. NO

This proposed amendment to Arizona's constitution would limit a governor's emergency powers to 30 days in many instances, unless extended by the state Legislature. It also would allow lawmakers to alter a governor's emergency powers.

Proposition 136: SCR 1041 – Relating to ballot measures. NO

This proposed amendment to Arizona's constitution would allow legal challenges to the constitutionality of proposed ballot measures to be considered before an election.

Proposition 137: SCR 1044 – Relating to the judiciary department. NO

This proposed amendment to Arizona's constitution would end term limits and retention elections for many state judges, instead allowing them to serve for life so long as they maintain good behavior.

Proposition 138: SCR 1040 – Relating to wages. NO

This proposed amendment to Arizona's constitution would allow employees who receive tips to be paid 25% less than the hourly minimum wage as long as their tips bring their overall earnings to $2 above minimum wage.

Proposition 139 – Relating to the fundamental right to an abortion. YES

This proposed amendment to Arizona's constitution would create a right to abortion until fetal viability and allow abortions later to protect the life or health of a pregnant woman.

Proposition 140 – Relating to elections. NO

This proposed amendment to Arizona's constitution would require open primaries in which candidates of all parties compete against each other, with a certain number advancing to the general election. Ranked choice voting would be required for general elections with more than two candidates.

Proposition 311: SCR 1006 – Relating to first responders. NO

The ballot measure would create a $20 fee on criminal convictions to provide a benefit of $250,000 to the spouse or children of first responders who are killed in the line of duty.

Proposition 312: HCR 2023 – Relating to property tax. NO

This ballot measure would allow people to seek property tax refunds if they incur expenses because local governments fail to enforce laws against illegal camping, loitering, panhandling, public consumption of alcohol or drugs, public urination or obstructing thoroughfares.

Proposition 313: SCR 1021 – Relating to child sex trafficking sentencing. YES

This ballot measure would require life imprisonment for people convicted of certain child sex trafficking offenses.

Proposition 314: HCR 2060 – Relating to responses to harms at the border. NO

This ballot measure would allow police to arrest immigrants who don't cross the border at a legal port of entry and would make it a state crime for people living in the U.S. illegally to apply for public benefits. It also would create a crime of selling fentanyl that causes someone's death.

Proposition 315: SCR 1012 – Relating to rulemaking NO
This ballot measure would prohibit state agency rules estimated to cost at least $500,000 within five years from taking effect until ratified by the state Legislature.
