HOW WE
ENDORSE: Stonewall
Democrats of Arizona has a
twelve person Endorsement
Committee. Candidates do not
file applications nor must
those endorsed have to be
members of the LGBTQ
community. Being a member of
the LGBTQ community is
obviously a plus towards
endorsement, however, we have
found that being such does
not always indicate that a
candidate would necessarily
be an advantage to our
community were they to hold
office. Many factors are
considered. Committee
members research candidates
through their social media
accounts, their websites,
voting records, YouTube
videos, statements, position
papers and more before
bringing their information
before the Committee in
whole for a vote.
EQUALITY SCORE: The
Equality Scores are
tabulated using such widely
varied sources as
questionnaires of not only
our own but of groups from
both the left and the right.
Information gathered during
the Primary Election
endorsement process is also
formulated into the Equality
Score. Scores range from 0
to 100% with the higher the
number being an indication
that the candidate would be
more apt to support and work
toward equality for ALL
people, the lower the number
more apt to discriminate
against segments of
society. --- indicates
that either scores have not
yet been reached for a
candidate or not enough
information is available to
formulate a score.
