Republican Rodney Glassman ran for election for Attorney General of Arizona. He lost in the Republican primary on August 2, 2022. Glassman, former Democratic Tucson City Councilman, U.S. Senate candidate and perennial candidate who's interested in any office he can find, resigned his seat on the Council to become the Democratic nominee running against U.S. Sen. John McCain in 2010 (spoiler: he lost). Rodney also ran for Maricopa County assessor in 2020, but fell short in the Republican primary. Glassman had unsuccessfully lobbied to be appointed to that seat earlier in the year. Over the years, Glassman has transformed himself from his early political attempts as a progressive Tucson Democratic ally of U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva, to become a darling of the most conservative Maricopa County Republicans.

Glassman Gets Early Start On 2026 AG Race After Series Of Unsuccessful Campaigns
"He’s been a Democrat and a Republican. And he’s run for U.S. Senate, corporation commission, Maricopa County assessor and attorney general. All those efforts came up short. But Phoenix attorney Rodney Glassman, whose last successful campaign outing was his 2007 election to the Tucson City Council, figures that the timing is right now for his latest political foray. And he’s giving it a jump start, already in the 2026 race for attorney general, even before the results of the 2024 election are all counted."

These Arizona Candidates Still Say Donald Trump Won In 2020, Or They're Not Sure What Happened

The Arizona Republic via The Rose Law Group Reporter

"Elected officials and candidates for office in 2022 continue to challenge and question the results of the 2020 presidential election in Arizona.

The results have been examined and re-examined, challenged in court and in a monthslong ballot review. No evidence has been found of widespread fraud or error in the results.

Yet candidates deny the outcome. Others don't quite go as far. But they raise questions about potential irregularities they say could have influenced the vote and should be examined.

The Arizona Republic is listing candidates by category by the race that they are entered in. This list is not complete and will be updated throughout the 2022 election season.

Attorney General Candidate Rodney Glassman's Fundraiser With Paul Gosar Concerns For Some In Jewish Community
"Politics can make for strange bedfellows. In Arizona's attorney general race, that has come in the form of Jewish candidate Rodney Glassman and Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz, who has aligned himself with an outspoken antisemite. Glassman, one of the Republican candidates running in the Aug. 2 primary, was endorsed by the six-term congressman who currently is representing the Grand Canyon State's 4th district. And on Saturday, Glassman held a fundraiser featuring Gosar at the American Legion post in Prescott."

Rodney Glassman Doesn't Understand The County Assessor Job He Seeks
