Does Heritage
Support
Discrimination
Against Women? |
|
"The
Heritage Foundation
has had a tough
month. President
Kevin Roberts’s
decision to
vigorously defend
Tucker Carlson’s
platforming of the
noted anti-Semite
and white
nationalist Nick
Fuentes has pushed
the conservative
think tank into a
tailspin. One board
member, the
Princeton professor
Robert George,
resigned; a number
of staff departed;
and a task force to
combat anti-Semitism
severed its ties.
Yet Heritage’s
problems are hardly
limited to its
handling of Fuentes.
The think tank’s
recent decision to
hire Scott Yenor, a
family-policy
scholar, to lead the
Foundation’s B.
Kenneth Simon Center
for American Studies
poses serious
questions about the
institution’s
beliefs concerning
the equality of
women in the
workplace and
perhaps even as
citizens. Yenor’s
views are, to say
the least,
controversial. In a
2021 speech at the
National
Conservatism
Conference, he
labeled professional
women “medicated,
meddlesome, and
quarrelsome.” " |

The Heritage
Foundation Scandal
And The Growth Of
Anti-Semitism On The
Right |
|
"Today, Princeton
professor and
prominent
conservative
political theorist
Robert George
resigned from the
Heritage Foundation
board in protest of
Heritage President
Kevin Robert's
defense of
anti-Semitic
"influencer" Tucker
Carlson and his
support of Nick
Fuentes, an even
more virulent
right-wing
anti-Semite.
George's resignation
is the latest of a
wave of departures
from Heritage,
including that of my
George Mason
University colleague
Adam Mossoff, who
wrote an eloquent
statement explaining
why he resigned from
his position as a
visiting fellow at
Heritage." |

Conservatives Plan
To Ban Abortion And
Cut LGBT Rights
Starting Next
January |
|
"On January 20,
2025, conservatives
plan to resurrect a
150-year-old defunct
law to ban abortion
across the nation.
This is not a secret
plan—far from it.
It’s part of the
180-Day Playbook
produced by Project
2025, detailing
priorities for an
incoming
conservative
president on day
one. These 900 pages
lay out a Christian
nationalist vision
of the United
States, one in which
married
heterosexuality is
the only valid form
of sexual expression
and identity; all
pregnancies would be
carried to term,
even if that
requires coercion or
death; and
transgender and
gender-nonconforming
people do not exist." |

The Federalist &
Heritage Foundation
Using Anti-LGBTQ
Alarmism |
|
"FoxNews.com
recently published
an op-ed from the
Heritage Foundation’s
Jay Greene claiming
children in America
were being subjected
to “proselytization
by left-leaning
teachers” intent on
providing
instruction on
“controversial
topics, such as
critical race theory
and gender
identity.” The
answer, Greene
suggested, was the
expansion of
policies favoring
private and charter
schools like
Education Savings
Accounts. These
policies, which
threaten to drain
money from the
public education
system, are often
promoted by
organizations like
Heritage that seek
to decimate the
American public
school system in the
name of right-wing
ideology and profit.
The past year saw a
resurgence in
conservative
attempts to use the
demonization of the
LGBTQ community in
order to
ideologically
capture the issue of
education." |

"Heritage
has railed against
LGBTQ equality for
decades, including
supporting
discrimination
against LGBTQ people
under religious
exemptions, opposing
marriage equality,
and opposing gay

pushing

The Heritage

Family Research
Council: Mirror
Images Of Hate |
|
"The Heritage
Foundation is
fond of branding
itself as a think
tank of
establishment
conservatives. In
reality, Heritage
regularly spouts
hateful ideas that
are detrimental to
LGBTQ individuals,
women, people of
color and low-income
workers. Heritage’s
policy positions are
not dissimilar from
those of peer
organizations such
as the

that have earned
designation from the
Southern Poverty Law
Center as hate

Anti-Transgender
Panel Of Feminists
'From The Left'
|
|
"The conservative
Heritage Foundation,
which has long
advocated against
LGBTQ rights, hosted
a panel in
Washington on Monday
titled “The
Inequality of the
Equality Act:
Concerns From the
Left.” But instead
of highlighting the
left’s opposition to
the Equality Act,
which seeks to add
LGBTQ protections to
federal civil rights
laws, all four
panelists had one
thing in common:
They oppose
transgender rights." |

Trump Lauds
Anti-LGBT Think-Tank
As ‘Titan’ In Fight
For America |
|
"President
Trump hailed
conservatives at the
Heritage
Foundation known
for opposition to
LGBT rights Tuesday
night as “titans in
the fight to defend,
promote and preserve
our great American
heritage.”" [ . . .
] "“Everyone here
tonight understands
a core truth, that
for America to have
confidence in our
future, we must have
pride in our
history,” Trump
said. “As Americans,
we have inherited a
special legacy of
freedom, culture,
laws, traditions and
values.” But a
legacy of America
with a history of
LGBT people fighting
for equal rights,
including the
Stonewall riots of
1969, and the value
of expanding and
protecting civil
rights apparently
wasn’t what Trump
had in mind." |
