"Gays Against Groomers
(GAG) is an American far-right anti-LGBT
organization known for protesting against
gender-affirming care for minors, including
at hospitals that provide it; against LGBT
representation at schools; and against Drag
Queen Story Hour events. A spokesperson for
the LGBT advocacy group GLAAD has claimed
that the group uses the slur "groomer" to
characterize LGBT people as pedophiles. GAG
has hosted anti-LGBTQ rallies, alongside
other far-right and anti-LGBTQ organizations
such as Moms for Liberty, which have been
attended by the Proud Boys. GAG began in
June 2022 as a Twitter account created by
Jaimee Michell, who had previously been
employed by right-wing communications firms
Arsenal Media and X Strategies and posted
similar content on her personal account. The
account is known for posting anti-trans
rhetoric and has been compared to Libs of
TikTok. Michell officially incorporated GAG
in September. GAG has been banned from
multiple social media and payment platforms
for violating rules on hate speech; they
have been promoted by right-wing media
outlets such as Fox News, One America News
Network (OANN), and InfoWars." |

about the people behind “Gays Against
Groomers,” the more it feels like their real
name should be “Gays Who’re Grifting.” A new
investigative report this week from media
watchdog group Media Matters for America has
revealed that Gays Against Groomers founder
Jaimee Michell and her partners are former
Trump acolytes employed by conservative
communications companies using QAnon
conspiracies and ties to extremist militias
to spread anti-transgender propaganda. When
accused of peddling homophobia and
transphobia, researchers wrote, GAG
frequently claims “that as a ‘coalition of
gay people’ it and its members are incapable
of spreading anti-LGBTQ propaganda.” But far
from being a “grassroots organization” (as
they claim on their official merchandise
page, where t-shirts are currently on sale
for $30), GAG is the project of several
right-wingers who stand to politically and
financially profit from anti-trans

‘Gays Against Groomers’ Going After Former
Illinois Activist |

"“Gays Against
Groomers” (GAG) has taken aim at a former
Champaign resident who dared to challenge
their claims. Noah, whose last name is being
withheld out of safety concerns, had posted
a TikTok video pushing back against a call
by the group to go after The Trevor Project.
In response, GAG went after him. GAG has
risen to prominence along with other
anti-LGBTQ groups such as Moms for Liberty (MfL)
within the past couple of years. And like
MfL, GAG has been particularly focused on
drag queens and transgender people’s access
to affirming care. [...] According to the
“About” page on their website, they claim
that the LGBTQ rights movement has been
“hijacked” by “radical activists” pushing an
extreme agenda. Which they say include drag
queen story hours and inclusive education.
GAG also claims that the majority of gay

Google Bans Anti-Trans Hate Group Gays
Against Groomers |

companies have been
under pressure for
months to stop
enabling the spread
of anti-transgender
hate and targeting
LGBTQ+ people by
online trolls. As a
result of terms of
service violations,
a popular anti-trans
hate group was
banned from a major
internet service for
the second time this
week. Gays Against
Groomers, founded by
Florida political
operative Jaimee
Michell who
identifies as gay,
was banned from
using Google's
subscriber services
late Tuesday
evening, the group
said on social
media. Shortly after
Michell appeared on
Tucker Carlson's Fox
News program to
complain to the
far-right pundit
about the news that
Venmo and PayPal had
banned the group,
Gays Against
Groomers took to
Twitter. Although
Michell and Carlson
discussed being
banned from
utilizing the
platform to collect
funds for use in its
hate campaigns, Gays
Against Groomers
tweeted about now
being banned from
