Opposes Nondiscrimination Protections for LGBTQ Community:
“On his Arizona Center for Policy Questionnaire, Schmuck was asked whether he supported or opposed “Adding ‘sexual orientation,’ ‘gender identity,’ or ‘gender expression’ to the protected classes of race, religion, age, sex, and ancestry in nondiscrimination law.” Schmuck indicated that he opposed this position and added, “I am Pro-Life and support the decision of qualified medical personnel in this instance.”” [Center for Arizona Policy questionnaire].
 
Supports 'Religious Freedom':
Schmuck was asked whether he supported or opposed “Prohibiting government from discriminating against an individual, organization, or small business based on their beliefs about marriage.” Schmuck indicated that he supported this position and added, “"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;" Marriage is a religious term.”” [Center for Arizona Policy questionnaire].
